What this project is really about
The Hogwarts Welcome Pack is a fictional digital experience designed to simulate the excitement of being admitted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Users can generate a personalized acceptance letter and receive their Hogwarts Express ticket — because every journey deserves proper onboarding.
The goal wasn’t realism. The goal was emotion. From typography to textures, every detail is crafted to feel nostalgic, slightly ironic and intentionally overdramatic — just like magic should be.
This project was created as a portfolio piece to explore storytelling through UX, playful copywriting, and themed UI design. It’s not official. It’s not canon. But it is very committed.
This project was born out of pure frustration. Not the magical kind — the real one. Countless iterations, discarded layouts, fonts that almost worked and then didn’t, and that constant feeling of being almost there without ever fully landing it. Finding a visual balance that actually felt right took far longer than writing the code itself. Ironically, as a developer, this project challenged me far more on the design side than the technical one. The whole thing started as an excuse to experiment with the “magic” of Astro.js, but quickly turned into a personal battle between aesthetics, consistency, and my own standards. The result is a project where the hardest spell wasn’t JavaScript — it was deciding when to stop tweaking.
